The stories in this book provide a glimpse into the author's experiences in Viet Nam, which many of his comrades in arms will find relatable. The author feels some degree of guilt talking about his friends killed in Viet Nam. He writes about them in hope of I honoring them and showing respect their memory. He was inspired to write this book. after reading Ben Sherwood's book entitled The Survivors Club, How to Survive Anything," which tells how people survive when the odds are impossible. He was also moved to write by author Elie Wiesel who said "Whoever survives a test, whatever it may be must tell the story. That is his duty."
