Oscar Romero: A Liberation Theologian - Paperback
Details
by Joshua Dixon (Author)
This article examines whether or not Oscar Romero, the martyred Catholic Archbishop of San Salvador, was a liberation theologian. After arguing that he was, based upon an assessment of selected homilies and pastoral letters of his, it draws out the implications of this conclusion for Catholic theology. It argues that the core elements of liberation theology were not only born from Catholic theology but are legitimately Catholic in essence. It was written as an undergraduate thesis for Oxford University and submitted in 2014.
