Details
by John Stix (Author)
"The Laura Nyro That I Knew: Stories from Bandmates and Friends" is just that, a set of interviews from those who surrounded her in the studio and on the stage. Many of them first appeared in the book "Laura Nyro: Lyrics & Reminiscences," though often in an abbreviated form. For the first time ever in print, we include a transcription of Laura's "self interview." Her professed purpose for this autobiographical interview was to express the meaning of music in her life. Interviews included in this book come from: Laura Nyro, Todd Rundgren, John Sebastian, Milt Okun, Charlie Callelo, Jimmy Vivino, Roscoe Harring, Phoebe Snow, Nydia "Liberty" Mata, Gary Katz, and 6 others.
