by Joseph Perry Grassi (Author)

"YESTERDAY NEVER HAPPENED, TODAY WILL NEVER END, AND TOMORROW WILL NEVER COME."
--Opening Line, Chapter 1, The Little Guy (or The Motor Scooter)

In the scorching heat of Afghanistan, Corrado believes everything will be alright if he can just focus all of his energy on following orders and maintaining his sanity until he learns that-even though he's just a supply guy, in the rear with the gear-every soldier in the Army is an infantryman first. Surrounded by officers and enlisted soldiers from almost every walk of life, both the beauty and ugliness of America are revealed, but will this revelation allow Corrado to get back home and live the American Dream?

A quote about the author: "We salute Sergeant Joe Grassi, who grew up just outside New York City. A squad leader in Afghanistan, he spent most of his time on the flight line, in the 120-degree heat, supplying our helicopter crews... he says, 'Some things are worth fighting for. America is worth fighting for. Thank you, Joe. We're proud of you." --President Barack Obama, August 26, 2014
