Author Biography

Lyman Frank Baum (1856-1919) was an American author famously known for, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Baum realized his love for children's books while reciting nursery rhymes to his son. His first collection, Mother Goose, was published in 1897. Following that, he wrote Father Goose that gained immense popularity. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a modern fairy tale featuring fictional land, witches, and a girl, named Dorothy. Afterward, he wrote 13 more Oz books and died in 1919 due to a stroke.
