Vapor - Paperback

by David Meyer (Author)

A LOST ARTIFACT WITH A TERRIFYING PAST ...

In 1347, the Black Death swept across Europe, killing tens of millions. As the death toll mounted, a band of survivors buried a strange reliquary outside Jerusalem. Its carvings depicted a dragon, fire falling from the sky ... and entire populations dying.

A WORLD COMING APART AT THE SEAMS ...

Cy Reed was once a respected archaeologist. Now he's the extreme salvage expert people call when an excavation is collapsing, under attack, or already beyond hope. Every recovery is another chance to prove he saves history rather than destroys it.

But when a deadly vapor tears through his latest dig, dozens perish and a mysterious reliquary disappears. Then droughts deepen. Storms turn violent. Billions of dollars vanish from U.S. government coffers. And a shadowy organization sets an apocalyptic scheme in motion.

A VICIOUS BATTLE TO SAVE THE WORLD!

Chasing after what he's lost, Cy races to a forbidden island. Fighting off endless dust storms, mercenaries, and a ruthless monster that shouldn't exist, he must discover the reliquary's secret ... and why powerful people are willing to kill for it.

To stop the coming catastrophe, Cy plunges into a savage struggle that could free him from his past ... or erase the world's future.

The Black Death killed millions.
This time, it could kill billions.

VAPOR is a high-stakes archaeological adventure thriller for readers of Clive Cussler, James Rollins, and Matthew Reilly.
