by Vincent Formosa (Author)
It is 1943. The world has been at war for 4 years, but James Callicoe's war is only just beginning. His father had pulled some strings and made him a Ministry man, a reserved occupation exempt from conscription. Having always been told what to do, where to go and what to think; Callicoe decided that wasn't the life he wanted. So, he volunteered for the Fleet Air Arm. After earning his wings and getting a commission as a Sub Lieutenant in the Wavy Navy, he's been posted to the Far East on the aircraft carrier, HMS Lancer. Callicoe's going to get all the action he wanted against the Japanese. Now he just has to survive the deadly game of flying an aircraft that's such a handful, the US Navy didn't want it!
