Prince George Winyah Parish was established in 1721 from St. James Santee Parish. The first known register of Prince George Winyah Parish begins in 1815 and ends in 1916. The format of the original register has been followed as closely as possible. The second register covers baptisms, burials, confirmations, marriages, and lists of communicants, 1916-1936. The entries in these registers include slaves, Negroes, and free persons of color.
